A mobile medium for peer-to-peer ride-sharing
Accessible and profitable commutes, across the board. An affordable & cohesive alternative to stagnant institutional transit.
Accessible and profitable commutes, across the board. An affordable & cohesive alternative to stagnant institutional transit.
Commuters have the option to have options. Choose to transit via the Hopbus ride-sharing system, or select from any other mass transportation available to you, or a combination therein - it's all about what's most accessible.
Institutions, like your employer or school or your city itself, are invested in hosting transit programs via Hopbus. For the commuter, this means cost sharing! And for the institution, this means savings! Join programs & manage them in-app.
Hopbus is a stop-to-stop ride sharing service. Routes are created by Drivers or by common demand, with Stops factored based on Rider requests. Institutions use Hopbus to provide transportation services to commuters, via sponsored fare subsidies; discounted transit & convenient access.
Hopbus lets commuters dynamically serve as ride hosts (Drivers) for other commuters - servicing both shared routes & overlapping destinations. Drivers define routes taking them where they need to be, while serving commuters en route - all while earning more $ than standard ride hailing, passively.
Piece together Routes to go the distance! Take a journey from city-to-city,
or even state-to-state, over all routes and transportation modes available.
Ride sharing should be accessible to everyone. So Hopbus operates at a lower
fee basis, with a cheaper service model, and a cost share component.

Example ride is 3 miles & 13 minutes, in downtown SF.

A reason why we need Hopbus:
10% of San Francisco traffic is empty ride-hailing cars.
In general, more than 50% of all miles driven by ride-hailing cars are sans passengers.
In the Bay Area, 50% of all congestion increase 2010-2016 was due to ride-hailing.

Another reason why we need Hopbus:
In the past decade, we've built 24X more roads than mass transit (USA).
Unfortunately, it’s clear why Americans continue to drive instead.

Ride-hailing is when a rider “hails”, or hires, a personal driver to take them exactly where they need to go. The vehicle is not shared, nor does it make stops along a route.
Ride-sharing is synonymous with carpooling. As the name implies, it's not personal transportation - and stops are made to pick up other riders.
Affordable ride-sharing, everywhere it's needed, thanks to:
Cheaper platform costs - thanks to convenient stop-to-stop routing & low fees.
Subsidizing Institutions - share transportation costs with your workplace, school, etc.
Choices - all mass transportation options, served up in-app.
Access - string together routes, via multiple transportation modes, to reach anyplace.
Hopbus Drivers are just regular people, on the daily commute.
Ride hailing Drivers are badly treated cab drivers, on demand.
Hopbus Drivers earn more, passively.
Not just an inhuman on-demand cab service, Hopbus reclaims true ride sharing. Traditional ride hailing services decrease commuter efficiency, on average, via added congestion & exclusive pricing models. Hopbus brings the benefits of a bus - active traffic flow, stop-to-stop routing, and economy - to an accessible application.
Currently, corporate transit is a closed loop - excluding both the public
& most potential adopters by virtue of privatization. It's too expensive for everyone.
Hopbus creates an appealing proposition for institutional adopters in all sectors, bringing the benefits of corporate transportation to all, without the exclusivity.
Municipalities need a tool applicable at any stage to support broken & lacking transit systems, be that coverage for missing routes or an entire network replacement. Hopbus offers solutions as a mass transit replacement & alternative, or as a mass transit patch & last-mile provider.
